My Own Experience of Hypnosis
My earliest memories weren’t the rosey pink fluffy dreams that most kids have. My childhood was filled with trauma, drama and the diagnosis dyslexia as a teenager answered the
question why I didn’t cope well at school.
The only escape for me as a child was a form of self hypnosis. It was the only way to cope with the emotional and physical pain that I suffered. This was something that I even used while having my two children. With no pain relief and being a young mum, it was the only thing I knew that would get me through.
With no direction I followed a path through primary healthcare and worked for twenty years in surgery. I know first hand how people cope with anxiety and fear as well as phobias. All of this can have an impact on mental health.
It wasn’t until I was at that place in my life we all seem to reach. A place where we need to find meaning. It was here that I realised that I was using hypnotherapy daily was something that got me through the dark times.
It was something that came to me naturally.
Why Hypnotherapy and NLP?
Because hypnotherapy was something that I was using everyday, it just made sense which pathway I was to follow.
I turned to an internationally recognised institution called The Hypnotic World International Academy of Hypnotherapy which has accreditation through The Hypnotherapy Association, The Professional Hypnotherapy Practitioners Association.
It was here that I found my calling. One thing being acknowledged now, is mental health with post operative recovery that has become critical to your pathway to health. As much as we need to sit and let our body’s heal, as much as we need to eat the right foods to increase the immune system, we also have to take care of our minds. Only the right mindset can speed your recovery, and get you back to what you love doing.
Hypnotherapy can help. Often patients go unrecognised with PTSD after a frightening diagnosis. A diagnosis that can
be life changing in so many ways. Making sense of this can be challenging and hypnotherapy can help you unpack this, process your thoughts in a healthy way, allowing you to move on with your life.
Having a baby, although being the most natural thing in the world, it’s scary, I’ve done it, as a teenage mum and on my own, I know how scary it can be.
The uncertainty of everything can leave you in overwhelm.
How do you process the thoughts and emotions that are swirling around your head, “reaching for professional help isn’t a sign of weakness”.
Its fundamental for your mental health and the health of your baby.
The one thing that i love is seeing the process people make, how their lives are impacted positively by therapeutic hypnosis and NLP.
The light at the end of the tunnel is there for everyone, sometimes, it takes a knowing hand to guide you through and bring you into the light.
Hypnosis for me was my saviour and I know it can help you too.
